Experience and Areas of Expertise

In 1964, Barry commenced service with the NSW Valuer General’s Department as an Assistant Valuer working in Cooma, Griffith and Parkes valuing residential, commercial and industrial properties together with mixed farming properties including irrigated orchards and rice farms.

Barry resigned from the Department as a fully qualified valuer in 1976 to travel abroad with his wife on a holiday/study tour returning to Australia in late 1977. He then joined his father Stanley Cole as a partner in his valuation practice, which commenced in 1956.

In 1985, Barry became the principal of his father’s practice, operating under the registered name B.J Cole & Co.

In recent years, Barry has been involved with many areas of valuation practice including specialised rural and commercial reports.

Barry has also during his career held positions as Secretary and Chairman of the Tamworth Group of Valuers representing the Australian Property Institute
